So we had our meeting with Dr B today and had a long long chat about where we are with everything.

I was quite suprised at how much he had read up on our notes and actually know our situation - this is far better than Oxford trust me!

He did start by saying what a topsy turvy journey we had been on and that he wanted to know how I was and how we were coping with everything. He said we had been really unlucky up until now and that we should definately keep going.

I firstly asked him about egg quality and he said there is no issue there as we keep getting grade A embryos. I said I was worried I was running out of eggs and so we are going to do some tests to find out exactly how many are left and what we are dealing with.

I asked about tubal surgery and if it was for me - his long informed answer was no. Tubal surgery is normally for women with a certain type of blockage (name I forget) and mine arent like that. He said it isnt available on the NHS and we would be better spending our money on another round of IVF.

Then we looked at getting going with the 3rd cycle and looked at dates - it was then that I began to realise that if my period arrives in the next week (as is due) I am not going to be able to go ahead with it as it will collide with Christmas. So it looks like I am about to spend yet another month in limbo! I have just cracked open the wine to celebrate :o(

He did say the small delay might be in our favour as they are having a big change in medication and that I won’t be using nasal sprays at all and will be injecting the whole time and that I would be on menapur instead of gonal f as it has a slightly higher success rate with implantation - so maybe this new system will be for me. We shall see.

So that’s my day - naffed off that I have a month off but happy that Dr B is hopeful - he made it clear that they dont say that unless its true as it is so much to go through.

I guess I have to enjoy Christmas and then crack on - what a lovely birthday present would that be!
